Commonly practice in Fenghsui, involving study and analzing 8 Mansions (also know as Palaces/Houses), Wandering Stars that are involved are Sheng Qi, Tian Yi, Yan Nian, Fu Wei, Liu Sha, Huo Hai, Wu Gui, Jue Ming.

The study is about knowing about energy spread of the property i.e. Qi Map within a time frame and how this energy is going to effect the residents (Mings). In effect trying to fine tune the Ming Gua to the Qi Map.

Details  8 Mansions Prosperous Stars

In the Eight Mansions and Flying Stars systems of Feng Shui, the term "Star" is used to represent a body of Qi. These Stars are frequently assigned a number and/or color to help us understand the types of Qi they represent and the ways that they can affect us.

In Eight Mansions Feng Shui, there are four Stars that bring positive effects. They are:

Sheng Qi, which means "life generating". in classical Feng Shui texts, this Star is sometimes called Tan Lang, meaning "Greedy Wolf". Sheng Qi is associated with the Wood Phase and it governs success, authority, nobility, status and wealth aspects in our lives. Sheng Qi is thus a good Star to tap into for career or wealth-related pursuits, but is not conducive for rest or sleep-related activities.

Tian Yi, the "Heavenly Doctor". In classical texts, this Star is often called Ju Men, or "Huge Door". It is represented by the Earth Phase and relates to the presence of noble people, status and health prospects. Tian Yi is a good Star to use for rest and recouperation, or when one needs help from mentors in one's career. Tian Yi can also impact one's ability to persuade or convince others, due to its association with nobility.

Yan Nian, which represents longevity. The original name for the Yan Nian Star is Wu Qui, or "Military Arts". Yan Nian is associated with the Metal Phase and with good relationships with other people. It also governs communication and networking aspects, as well as family harmony and domestic bliss.

Fu Wei, which brings stability. In classical texts, Fu Wei is called Fu Bi, meaning "Assistant". It is associated with the Wood Phase and it brings calmness and tranquility. Fu Wei is a good star to tap into for meditation, concentration or study.

These Stars are beneficial and are located in fixed palace for individual Ming (person).

Apart from these we have not beneficial malevolent stars are they are

5)      Liu Sha (literary Arts) which is Yang Water is less Harmful
6)      Huo Hai (Rewards Star) which is Yin Earth is more harmful
7)      Wu Gui (Chastity) which is yang Fire even more harmful
8)      Jue Ming (Broken Soldier) which is Yin Metal most harmful

These Stars are not beneficial and are located in fixed palace for individual Ming (person).

When Ming(Person) Gua & Zhai Gua (Property)  are in Harmony, Wealth & Kids prosper. But when Ming & House are contrary, then people, wealth, health & relationship decline/ suffer or life is that of poverty & even suffer extinction.

Though Bazhai Mingjing also has a time factor involved, the results of effects are slow.

Analysis is done keeping into mind the
a)  Timeliness
b)  Control, Weaking, Producing cyles
c)  Host Guest Relationship
d)  Forms and 5 celestial animals

In Bazhai, the Sitting and Facing directions of the property are very important. Emphasis is on the location & Direction of Main Door i.e. in which palace is the door located and in that palace what is the direction , The Kitchen location and particularly Stove Direction and Location and finally Bedrooms.

If, it is difficult to move from a house, then there are 24 orientations & if it unsuitable for occupants, then we can examine the locations of Doors, Stove & Beds.

i) i.e. if a house is not beneficial, then change the Door (1st & Important) – it becomes beneficial.
ii) if a room in a house is not beneficial, then change the Room Door, it becomes auspicious.
iii) Location of bed, Door & measurement is important then.
iv) if a East person dwells in west House, then by changing stove position is also helpful.
v) if a East Ming Person Marries a East Ming Female then Marriage is good & peaceful , will not be lonely and will have children

Allocation of Room, Beds are important with measurements for beneficial results, They have to be used in conjunction. Door's, windows & balcony locations are also significant.
